everyone should read johnny wander anyway
solid comic
the best thing about that movie is that it’s summarized as “a guy takes a limo across town for a haircut”’
luckily cronenberg’s name on the project (he wrote the screenplay!) tells you that’s certainly not what the movie’s about.
i need something to listen to to drown out my dog barking/while i work. can someone suggest something to me?
something i dont have to pay total attention to? usually i listen to retsupuraes or rrcherrypie videos or things like that.
Someone on Youtube has a best-of series taking clips from GiantBomb quicklooks - I shoved them all into a playlist the other day for just that reason (autoplaying in the background)
fighting games i’d recommend picking up on xbox to new players in order of priority:
- skullgirls (get a final announcement date already)
- umvc3 (rumored patch in the works, should rebalance a bit for the better)
- ssf4ae (community’s a bit dead for now but it’s still decent)
fighting games i don’t recommend on xbox
- sfxt
- blazblue
- 3s (if just because the community is completely dead)
- mvc2 (same)
I would throw SC5
and KOF13into recommended. SC5 is probably the best online experience for a fighter (Solid netcode, great match filter options, lobbies WITH TEXT CHAT BETWEEN MATCHES) and they just released a balance patch.
kof’s netcode is sadly too bad to recommend
and sc5 i don’t own :v
ultradavid on sfxt:
Just need a place to put all this:
—obvious glitches that were somehow missed
—obvious infinites that were somehow missed
—poorly designed game mechanics that can only be not too powerful by being nerfed to near uselessness, see pandora and cross assault
—hitboxes that have very little to do with where things look like they should be
—roll/stand mixup discourages pressure, means characters who have to depend on crossups or throws for pressure have a harder time winning
—weak throw range means some characters and forms of pressure are needlessly bad
—clock runs too fast and always runs in a game where dealing damage, whether in cinematics or normal combos, and doing individual block strings and counterhit setups, like stand jab pressure, can last for 10-15 seconds
—damage scaling is designed for the very different sf4 system, doesn’t translate well into a game where combos can reasonably be comprised of 20 individual moves
—life regeneration is set at too high a percentage and happens too fast in a game where the timer is a constant issue
—stages are so wide that getting and maintaining proper positioning is really hard and runaway is artificially strong
—yes, there are still SF4 style “unblockables” aka crossups that can only be blocked with 1 frame timing
—there are so many time-lengthening factors (stage size, life regen, roll/stand, fast and constant timer, etc) that players have to start making clock-based decisions with 30-50 seconds left in a round
—designed for play with a gem system that is extremely disappointing: can’t see your opponent’s gems to know how to gameplan for them, most gems are only important on the margins, assist gems are clearly overpowered, some dlc gems are obviously gamebreaking
—I don’t even usually care about this, but the graphics and music are so terrible, and even terrible in important ways like lifebar design
No, it’s not my favorite game. Yes, I’m still playing and watching it and still trying to help it evolve into something better. But I think there’s only so much players can do to improve the game before we need Capcom to swing in and do the rest.

Anyone out there that I don’t have friended on XBOX yet? Shoot me an invite and/or message saying who you are and I’ll add you, my GT is ‘flatluigi’ (as always)
only thats even funnier because thats some big budget popular show and not someone cashing in on fandom people to get a bunch of tumblr notes
![]()
flatluigi replied to your photo: i said ‘dubstep is only dubstep if craig likes it’…
brostep is the genre dubstep fans created to shove all the shitty dubstep into, fyi
if by ‘shitty’ you mean ‘that they don’t like’ then yes
nah i’m never one to dismiss a genre out of hand
i assume somewhere there’s decent music that’s in the genre (probably on the fringe of a different genre) and that people who enjoy it enough to want to shove the bad shit into a different genre know some of what they’re talking about
probably
especially given how long I’ve used it while rating tracks to have a channel exactly based on what I like
